Vacuum gripping systems
example from the construction industry
Our Customer, an international company, manufactures fiber cement products for use in facades, interior design and gardening.
During the production process the cement slabs are gripped with vacuum. In the past, it was a problem to grip various, sometimes structured and grooved surfaces.
The solution was the Kenos foam gripper offered by the Swedish manufacturer piab. It grips the various surfaces perfectly, and its service life exceeded expectations.
It works flawlessly even after more than 100,000 cycles!
The technology can be applied to wood, concrete and brick materials up to a load of several hundred kilograms.
piab's Kenos KVG
The KVG series represents a flexible solution for handling products with different shapes and dimensions. Thanks to the double technology available (check valves and flow reducers) many industrial sector applications can be fulfilled. The KVG gripping system can be equipped with an integrated vacuum generation, or a separated vacuum generation through pump or side channel blower. The integrated vacuum generator is a modular multi-stage COAX® ejector, which offers easy maintenance and the possibility to be scaled up based on need, even after installation. The mat of the KVG gripping system is made of a technical foam (FDA approved mat is also available) with different pitch holes and thickness. The KVG120C and KVG60C can be equipped with suction cups from Piab’s broad program.
